Art and science is a fresh concept that depicts a set of new art practices derived from, or intersected by, science. Although still very broad and not well defined, it can already be viewed as an attempt to overcome the usual art as scientific illustration stereotype. In fact, this kind of art makes use of scientific knowledge to generate new forms of creativity and artistic expressions.
The Inside [art and science] exhibition gathers 22 artists that, in different ways and trough a variety of media, interact with science, from biology to artificial intelligence or robotics. With it we hope to contribute to the development and divulgation of this important avenue that, for sure, will determine the art of the 21st century. More info at www.inside.com.pt
