P4Photography was estabilished in Lisbon in 2001 by Luís Trindade, who was born in a traditional family of art dealers and later graduated in Art Conservation. He creates the P4 brand and concept in 2001, later developping it into P4Photography in 2005. Following the success of the first photography auctions in Portugal (which began in 2006), P4 developed a new strategy focusing on the photography arts in general. This includes the creation of a data base and sale of photography books (several of them out of print), the production of limited edition prints and the foundation of a photography gallery. The P4Photography Gallery exhibit not only well-known photographers but also newcomers, particularly those with an interest in all things Portuguese. A daunting task when one thinks that there are traces of Portugal all over the world. Next auctions will widen the company focus from Photography to works of Modern & Contemporary Art and Design. P4 specialists are dedicated to the company's unique approach to the auction market. P4 has developed an on-line auction system (P4LiveAuctions®), set low comission rates and competitive catalogue ilustration, along with a new selling policy starting value below of their original price. |
